Data Protection
Our commitment to UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Effective Date: March 2026
1. Our Commitment
**Service Metrology Limited** is committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of data subjects and safely and securely processing their data in accordance with all of our legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
2. Handling of Engineering Data
Given the highly sensitive and proprietary nature of our engineering operations (CMM Programming, Tactical Inspection, CT Scanning), all CAD models (.STP, .IGS, CATPART) and 2D engineering drawings supplied to us are treated strictly as commercially sensitive data. All such engineering data is stored on encrypted, offline-capable servers and is physically sequestered from public internet endpoints where possible.
3. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have any inaccuracies corrected, and to request the erasure of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing. You also have the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing.
4. Data Breaches
We have robust procedures in place to detect, investigate and report any personal data breaches. We will notify you and any applicable regulator (such as the ICO) of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
5. Data Controller
Service Metrology Limited acts as the Data Controller. Official requests for data extraction or deletion should be directed to our technical support team through our official Contact framework.
